How it plays

Coins in one end. A resort out the other.

It starts with a coin pusher and one shut hotel. It opens out into slot spins, card sets you cannot finish alone, and a valley of rival players who would quite like your takings.

The story

Maggie Wilson has a plan for the place.

The Falls of Fortune resort closed a long time ago and nobody has touched it since. You follow Maggie's story as you repair the old hotel, then keep going until the whole valley is open again.

Every building you finish generates income while you are away. That income is also what rival players are after, so the resort you build is the resort you defend. It is the reason to come back rather than a reason to cash out.

Worth saying plainly

Free to play, and not gambling.

  • The core game is free. Tickets and energy can be bought if you want to play past the regen timers, and rewarded ads are an optional top-up, but everything in Falls of Fortune is reachable through normal play.
  • No real money is wagered or won. The coin pusher and the slots are casino-inspired mechanics played for entertainment. Coins, cash and tickets exist inside the game and stay there.
  • Intended for players aged 18 and over. Store age ratings will be confirmed nearer to launch.

Pillar 01

The coin pusher

Where it starts, and where you keep coming back to.

Drop a coin in and watch the pile shift. Coins tip over the edge and take tickets, prizes, quest items and collectible cards down with them, and the pile rearranges itself into a slightly different problem.

The pusher keeps running the whole time you are playing, so whatever you are chasing next is already visible, sitting just short of the drop. Tickets fuel your pushes. You earn them through normal play, or top up with a rewarded ad.

Pillar 02

Slot spins

Energy in, cards and trouble out.

Slots unlock as you progress and run on energy rather than tickets. Spins pay out cash, cards for your collection, and attack symbols that send you raiding a rival resort.

Players end up alternating between the two: push for a while, spin for a while, then push again with what the spins paid out. The rivalry lives here.

Pillar 03

Card sets

You will not get every card on your own.

Cards drop from both the pusher and the slots, and a fresh set arrives every two weeks. Not every player is dealt every card, which is deliberate: the last one you need is usually sitting in a friend's collection.

Trade for the gaps, finish the set, take the reward. Then the next set lands and you start again.

Pillar 04

Rebuild the resort

A hotel, a country club, a golf course and a sailing lake.

Everything you win goes back into the resort. You start on the old hotel and work outwards into a country club, golf courses and a sailing lake.

The buildings you finish generate income while you are away. Rival players can raid that income, so what you build is worth defending.
